| Espresso after all, is why we are in
business. As much as we would like to think that espresso has something in
common with other food service items; consistently good espresso shots are a
difficult craft; we're not flipping burgers. American Style espresso is the single defining factor of today's coffeehouse culture. If the serving of espresso could be summed up by a sentence, it would be 'more is better'. Yet espresso by nature is a small quantity. We answered this paradox by the simplest of solutions, refining the essence of the espresso blend. Roaster X espressos are rich and velvety sweet; drank straight you will be amazed by their smoothness, yet a double will easily provide long lasting flavor in a sixteen ounce drink. We serve many a 24 ounce drink with six shots, without the common side effects of jitters or a sour stomach. This is all accomplished with the roast and attention to the process. Roaster X espressos are based on old world tradition. Our hand crafted espressos will provide even and exceptional results, with the absolute highest attention paid to consistently good pulls. Roasting processes are especially difficult on espresso quality beans, and the attention to detail paid during our production will definitely prove successful with every shot you pull. |

Zen Master
Espresso: The absolute ultimate espresso. Based on the earliest account of the espresso blend. This rich, smooth, and heavily bodied espresso is syrupy sweet with a chocolate finish. A lighter roast than is typically considered 'espresso', the beans in this blend are of such high quality that the roast is meant to highlight varietal flavor as much as the process of espresso itself. This is the connoisseur espresso; with correct 'pulls' this espresso will prove to be almost all crema. But be warned, this espresso requires the hand of an experienced barista; it's subtle qualities lost on the novice. |

American Style
Espresso: Bold, dark, and robust. This is a workhorse espresso that balances with the sweetest of drinks. Though heading toward a dark roast, the slow roasting allows the sugars to caramelize providing a richness not often found in these origin coffees. This blend is based on the newer traditions of the American espresso technique. |

| House | |||||
| It's easy enough to overlook
considerations for a house coffee. After all, the brewing process is simpler
than espresso, and consistency is far above what espresso provides. House
coffee often becomes an excuse for rotating through varietals, or worse, house
coffee becomes the use for ugly leftovers about to go stale. Sales of house
coffee will often times be forty percent of total coffee sales. Focus your
attention to a good quality house coffee, and watch years of success unfold.
Come up with a good house coffee and stick to it. There's no more alienating experience than for a new customer to walk into your store on Monday and get a kick ass cup of house that they love, only to return Tuesday to get something different. Roaster X suggests developing a direct infusion system for brewing house. 7.25 ounces of coarsely ground beans soaked in a gallon of water at 197 degrees for 6 minutes, then strained through a tight metal screen will often prove a far superior cup to paper filter drip brews. |
